Susanne Felix, CIC
My family moved to Oak Harbor in 1965, my Dad transferring with GTE from La Habra, CA. My parents were determined to raise their family of 5 in a better environment than southern California, so we relocated to our own little 10 acre farm near Deception Pass. My childhood years are filled with wonderful memories of that farm, countless animals, haying fields, running around bare foot and the crazy antics of a large family. My parents still reside in Oak Harbor and will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary in the summer of 2021.
I purchased Tradewinds Insurance from Wells Fargo in 2003, along with my business partner, Robert Young. In 2005, we also acquired Richardson Insurance, a long time local independent insurance agency. I am very passionate about small business and about being part of our local community. You will often see our business involved in local events, parades and charities.
When I'm not at the office, I enjoy traveling, wine tasting, watching classic movies (and a lot of action movies, having raised two sons) and reading. I especially love traveling with my two sons and daughter-in-law as well as my extended family. As you can imagine, that original family of seven has grown to quite a large crowd so it's not uncommon to take a trip with 16 (or more) people.
